In Search of the Greatest Hotels that Edmonton Has to Offer

Choosing a excellent hotel when you’re on a trip to in Edmonton isn’t often straightforward, due to the fact that you have so many options! Obviously, you can choose something out of the same Edmonton guidebook which everybody and their brother has consulted for the past several years, but that does not imply you are going to have a nice experience (in actual fact, it would just about guarantee a negative one!). Alternatively, it’s really a smart idea to do a tiny bit of researching, using your friend the Web. Locals will invariably know the perfect hotels in their own city, just what the best rooms are, and the right times of year to hit up their chosen parts of the city. Nevertheless, you do not want to go up to everyone you run into in the airport in Edmonton, demanding their tips. So in lieu, we’ve made a brief listing of our 3 favorite hotels in Edmonton for you. These are the ones we suggest to our family when they arrive to visit – but because we really do not want you to think we’re really being biased, below are the opinions from Yelp.com:

1. The Fairmont Hotel MacDonald

Fairmont Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the city. It is located in downtown Edmonton, very convenient location. This is a character hotel with lovely and elegant ambiance. If you are looking for something modern and high tech, then this hotel may not be your choice.

I was staying there two nights at the suite level. The room was big, comfortable, luxury and cozy. The view from my room overlooking the river was amazing.

All of the staffs were very professional, from the restaurants, the health club, the receptionists and housekeeping. It was obviously that everyone have all been well-trained.

I will definitely stay there again when in Edmonton.

2. The Westin Edmonton

Edmonton, AB T5J 0N7

Great hotel and a home away from home for me. The bell and front desk staff are helpful and friendly. I’ve personally never really had good restaurant service or food. Room service is always quick and friendly, but the food could also use some work.

Bottom line: stay at this hotel! Consider eating at this hotel if your other options have fallen through.

3. Crowne Plaza Hotel Edmonton-Chateau Lacombe
10111 Bellamy Hill
Edmonton, AB T5J 1N7

Another good Crowne Plaza establishment. Talk about being in the midst of things…cinemas, venues, restaurants, art district, heritage walking trail and shopping are all within walking distance. My room had a very nice king size bed with a great view of downtown. I love the Chateau Lacombe sleep system and the complimentary wi-fi. There’s a revolving restaurant on the 24th floor with an amazing view of the entire city.

It’s not a swanky hotel, but you cannot beat the downtown location.
